HAPPY HALLOWEEN and a fun little Halloween GIVEAWAY!!

As promised I have a little Halloween giveaway for all my followers. I am a bit of an Ebay junky and won two of the same thing so I decided to give it away today!! Today's giveaway is the Halloween Sign die and folder for your Cuttlebug!

To enter this giveaway all you have to do is use Mr Linky and show us how you have used your Cricut to decorate your house. If you do not have a Cricut that is OK. Show us how you have used your scrapbook supplies to decorate your home instead. I will pick our winner on Wednesday, November 3rd. This should give everyone time to post their photos.

I have not been able to to much with my Cricut lately with my back issue but here is what I did to decorate my window using my Cricut and the Pumpkin Carvings cartridge.

Thanks for playing and Happy Halloween!!

Sorry for being MIA :(

I am so sorry for not posting anything in such a long time. So much has been going on in my life that I have not had time to do any crafting. To make this short and sweet in the past week I have lost my beloved 11 1/2 yr old greyhound, had a birthday, and been laid up in bed for 5 days with with I think is a slipped disk.

On Monday, October 18th my dear greyhound fell down our stairs at 3:30 am. My poor husband saw the whole thing and could do nothing to stop her. He carried her up the stairs and she seemed ok, just shaken up and a little limp. As the the day went on her limping was getting worse. She was also having a hard time getting up and down and we also noticed she manage to brake a toe from the fall. We called the vet and it was decided that she lived a long life and it was time to let her go. This was a very had decision to make but I know it was the right thing to do. For years she has been suffering with bad eyes and was showing signs that it was getting worse and would end up going blind. Recently her teeth have been getting worse as well. About 8 months ago we had 4 teeth pulled knowing that eventually all the teeth would have to go. I just knew that with the fall, broken toe, bad hips, and teeth that she would not make it threw another surgery. So we said goodbye to our dear Lottie on October 19th at 10 am in the morning.

The next day was my 34th birthday. It was difficult to enjoy this day without my dear Lottie but my dear kids and husband made my day very special with all their love and handmade cards. The birthday celebration continued on Sunday at my parents house. We enjoyed pizza, wine, presents and lots of fun!

All was getting back to normal and I thought I would be able to do some crafting on Monday, October 25th then all of the sudden I manage to hurt my back. Have no idea what I did. Just started having back spasms and stayed on the couch for the day. Thought that with some rest that it would get better but it only continued to get worse. I have been laid up in bed since only getting up when I need to. I wish I could say I am all better but I'm not. It is better than Monday but I can only stand and sit for a short time before I need to lay down. May have to go to the doctor to get it checked out and see if I have a slipped disk or something.

So there is my week all wrapped up. It has been quite a busy one. Be on the look out for new posts. I have some new cricut cartridges coming in the mail and hope to do some crafting once they come in. I will also have a fun Halloween giveaway starting later today. Going to rest alittle before I post my little giveaway and Halloween challenge!

Halloween Treat Bag

It's Friday so that means it's time for another fun Halloween project!! This week I decided to make a treat bag that my kids can give out at their Halloween class parties at school. These would also be fun to make up for neighbors or coworkers.

These are super simple to make!

Take 4" x 4" black cardstock (score at 2" then fold in half and staple to bag) . Then punch our 2" x 4" green cardsock with a fun Halloween boarder punch. Layer on the 1" x 4" Patten Paper and attach some black ribbon. Tie a knot then add a stamped sentiment and your done!!

Wild Thing

Friday's Halloween Project (a day late):

Here was a quick page I put together using Close To My Heart's Hooligans Paper Packet and My Stickease. No cricut for this page, which was really weird for me to do. I always use my cricut for most of my projects.

Be on the look out for more Halloween projects next Friday, October 15th!

Crazy Around Here

OK, it's Friday and I have not had a chance to sit down and create a Halloween project. I am so so sorry. I have been gone all day with my 1st grader and her class on a Field Trip to the farm. We had lots of fun picking corn, green beans, potatoes, celery and carrots. All the veggies are clean now and I am going to make a yummy stew this weekend. Tomorrow should be less hectic for me so I should be able to sit down and create something spooky to share.

So please stay tuned....

Weekly Challenge #1: OOH, LA LA! FRENCH MANOR!

The new Cricut Circle Blog is going to have Weekly Friday Challenges. This week was to create something using the French Manor cartridge. Here was the catch, you must included JEWELS or PEARLS and your project must have at lease two cuts. Since I love the Tri-Fold Shutter card I decided to make another one using the Eifel tower from the French Manor cartridge as my focus. I am super happy with this card and hope everyone likes it too.

Got Scraps? Halloween Challenge

Got Scraps? is having their first Monday of the Month challenge. I decided to create a Tri-fold Shutter card. I have seen these cards all over the Internet and have been wanting to try to make one for some time. They look difficult to create but it was actually very simple.

For my card I used Close To My Heart's NEW paper packet called Hooligans. It is just absolutely adorable!! I also used the Hooligans felt stickers from Close To My Heart and Scrappy Moms: A Haunting We Will Go stamp set.
Here is the basic card recipe.

Card Base
5.5x12 scored at 2", 4", 8", 10" turned and cut at 1.25" and 4.25"

Cardstock
2 - 1.75" x 5.25"
1- 2.75" x 3.75"
2 - 2.75" x 1.75"4 -
1" x 1.75"2 -
1" x 3.75"

Patterned paper
2 - 1.5" x 5"
1 - 2.5" x 3.5"
2 - 2.5" x 1.5"
4 - .75" x 1.5"
2 - .75" x 3.5"

Front panel
3" x 4.25
2.75" x 4"

*I did add extra layering on the front panel and inside panel.

I want CANDY! Treat Bag

Where does the week go? I have been so busy with custom orders that I forgot to do my Friday Halloween project. So I do apologise that this is a few days late.
To create this cute treag bag I used the Bat Treat Bag from the Mini Monsters cartridge. I cut the bag out of a 12x12 piece of Amethyst Close To My Heart cardstock and choose the Fit To Page feature on my Cricut Expressions. This cut it out at 6". Then I chose a darker shade of purple (Hydrangea from Close To My Heart) for the mouth wings and handles. Remember to deselect the Fit To Page feature when cutting out the accents of the bag. Otherwise they will be way to big! Then I cut the ears (I think that is what they are) out of gray Bazzill textured cardstock and the the eyes and fangs from black and white cardstock. He is very easy to make would be great to give to the class filled with treats at this years Halloween party!!
