I am so sorry for not posting anything in such a long time. So much has been going on in my life that I have not had time to do any crafting. To make this short and sweet in the past week I have lost my beloved 11 1/2 yr old greyhound, had a birthday, and been laid up in bed for 5 days with with I think is a slipped disk.
On Monday, October 18th my dear greyhound fell down our stairs at 3:30 am. My poor husband saw the whole thing and could do nothing to stop her. He carried her up the stairs and she seemed ok, just shaken up and a little limp. As the the day went on her limping was getting worse. She was also having a hard time getting up and down and we also noticed she manage to brake a toe from the fall. We called the vet and it was decided that she lived a long life and it was time to let her go. This was a very had decision to make but I know it was the right thing to do. For years she has been suffering with bad eyes and was showing signs that it was getting worse and would end up going blind. Recently her teeth have been getting worse as well. About 8 months ago we had 4 teeth pulled knowing that eventually all the teeth would have to go. I just knew that with the fall, broken toe, bad hips, and teeth that she would not make it threw another surgery. So we said goodbye to our dear Lottie on October 19th at 10 am in the morning.
The next day was my 34th birthday. It was difficult to enjoy this day without my dear Lottie but my dear kids and husband made my day very special with all their love and handmade cards. The birthday celebration continued on Sunday at my parents house. We enjoyed pizza, wine, presents and lots of fun!
All was getting back to normal and I thought I would be able to do some crafting on Monday, October 25th then all of the sudden I manage to hurt my back. Have no idea what I did. Just started having back spasms and stayed on the couch for the day. Thought that with some rest that it would get better but it only continued to get worse. I have been laid up in bed since only getting up when I need to. I wish I could say I am all better but I'm not. It is better than Monday but I can only stand and sit for a short time before I need to lay down. May have to go to the doctor to get it checked out and see if I have a slipped disk or something.
So there is my week all wrapped up. It has been quite a busy one. Be on the look out for new posts. I have some new cricut cartridges coming in the mail and hope to do some crafting once they come in. I will also have a fun Halloween giveaway starting later today. Going to rest alittle before I post my little giveaway and Halloween challenge!

Sorry to hear about the loss of you dog. We lost our two Rottweilers this year, they made it to 12 years old! I know they lived a long life, but it is still hard. The female woke up one morning going lame, and we tried to nurse her for a month, but it is amazing how a lame dog is like a lame horse. It is impossible to help them go to the bathroom, etc. After many tears and discussion, we finally had to help her leave us, dogs are so strong they can live for weeks in pain. Our male (who was going blind and had lost his hearing) passed away the same way a month later. It was like they knew the end of their lifespan was up and they couldn't function anymore. We lost them in April and May and it still hurts. I am glad you have your family to support you. We are thinking of another dog next year, I want our 2 and 6 year old to have a dog growing up. On another note, I too have suffered back spasms. The pain is unbearable. Take care of your back and learn the "triggers."
Sorry to hear of your loss! We will be here whenever you feel better!! Take it easy!!
