Christmas Card Picture

Well, I ran out of time to take the kids to get their photos done professionally, so I set up my camera last night, had the kids get dressed up really quick, and took about 15 shots. Only one came out great with all of the kids.

Top Ten Signs that you are Addicted to Scrapbooking

1. Your three-year-old wants to know if her coloring book is "archival quality."

2. You decide to give your child piano lessons so you'll be able to use the musical instrument stickers.

3. You're in a fender bender and your first thought is "I wonder what die-cut shape will coordinate with this event?"

4. You try to claim your album purchases as a medical expense because it's such good "therapy".

5. You redecorate your family room to coordinate with your photo album covers.

6. Your child is the only one in class who thinks "crop" means "to cut your photos".

7. Scraps from your corner rounder cuttings can be found in unusual places: school lunch bags, briefcases, the laundry, the dog's water bowl.

8. A regular sandwich is no longer acceptable...it must be cropped or cut with decorative edges.

9. You buy a new swimsuit because it matches the new gingham photo mounting paper.

10. You're the only one at a social gathering yelling, "Just one more photo folks, I don't have enough for a 2 page spread"

I've Been Tagged!!

I was tagged by a new blogger friend of mine Korin.

Now to think of 7 things to tell about me.

1.) My favorite holiday is Halloween. I love to deck out my house all scary but not to scary for the kids in the neighborhood. Although this year I was told by one lady my house was to scary for her little girl. I guess that means I did a good job. I hope to have an elaborate graveyard seen in my front yard one year.

2.) I am a Step Mom to my 2 older children but to them I am their Mom. (I'm a Mom of 4 beautiful children)

3.) I love to buy gifts at Christmas time for the kids. It is one of the highlights of Christmas time for me. A close second is watching them rip them open and their eyes light up with delight.

4.) I HATE to cook but I do a pretty good job at it.

5.) Before I became a Mom I was a Travel Agent. That was a fun job! I Loved traveling to places for very little $$. While I was a Travel Agent I visited, Mexico City, Tampa, Cancun and Cruised the Caribbean. I would love to get back into the Travel business again when all the kids are in school.

6.) A dream of mine is to open up a Scrapbook store with my good friend, Laura. She knows all the business in's and out's and I just love to shop for product!!

7.) I love to watch Harry Potter movies over and over again.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let IT Snow Layout

Here is a fun layout I did a few days ago. I just loved the way it turned out!!

For the snow I used Creative Memories cutting system and cut three wavy strips out for each page, then chalked the edges to make it look more like real snow. Added some glitter to give it some sparkle then layered and popped it to give the snow dimension. This is a really easy technique but gives the page that extra POP to your layout!

Halloween With Horses

So for my birthday we took the kids to Parker, CO for the Halloween with Horses. We got them all dressed up in their costumes and took off. Once we got there we had to go ride the horses before we could do anything else. I think we stood in line for a good 30 to 40 minutes before the kids were able to ride. By looking at these pictures you can tell they had the best time. I thought they were so darn cute in their costumes and riding helmets. We also Trick or Treated in the stables, painted pumpkins, went through a kid friendly Haunted House and did a little shopping. By the end of the day the kids along with Wes and I were tired and ready to head home. Can't wait to go again next year!

First Snow

Today it snowed in Colorado! Unfortunately I do not have any pictures to show because I was sick in bed all day today. Now that I am feeling a little better the snow has already melted. It was the weirdest snow. It started off as heavy rain snow mixed early in the morning. It even thunder as it was snowing. As the temperature drooped it all turned to a very pretty snow. By 5pm it was all melted away. The ground was just to warm for it to stick around. The rest of the week does not show snow in the forecast but I'm sure we will have snow for Halloween as we do almost every year.

Halloween "BOO" Door Hanger

Here is a cute little door hanger that I put together yesterday. It turned out so darn cute! I bought the raw wood "BOO" sign at Michael's for a $1 and decorated it with paint and paper. Then sealed it with some Modge Podge and embellished it with stickers, buttons and alphabet beads. I have another to make that I plan on only using CTMH products.

National Card Making Day

In honor of National Card Making Day I made this cute Halloween card using CTMH's Happy Haunting stamp set along with SU! Halloween paper and cardstock.
Sorry for the lighting. I normally take pictures outside because the lighting in my house is so bad but today is a very windy day.

Coaster Box

I finally finished this Photo box for a Home Gathering this Sunday. I used 5 plain coasters and pasted the papers from the Caprice Level 2 Kit on one side of the coaster then painted the other sidee by mixing the white paint with a re-inker. I assembled the box by punching holes in all 4 corners of all the coasters. Then attached them together with ribbon. I love to distress so there is a lot of that going on in this project. I then took 3 - 2x3 photos and matted those then attached them to the box with some fun embellishments. The front of the box has 3 stamped flowers cut out with some glitter. I plan on adding the year down in the lower corner. The photos are from the first day of school. My youngest, who is not in school yet, was not pictured that day.

Picking Pumpkins Layout

Here is a layout that i finished today. I just loved how it turned out!! I used Close To My Heart Textured Cardstock along with their Autumn Terracotta Ribbon Rounds. The other paper was this beautiful shimmering paper from Reminisce. I have never spent so much for one sheet of paper but it was really worth it.

This layout is up for bid on E-bay. Click the title above to take you to it's link.

Back From Weekend Crop

So sorry I have not posted in awhile, I was packing and then gone for a weekend crop in Winter Park. I had a wonderful time and was able to get 10 pages done. I know it does not sound like a lot but I did not start packing until Thursday afternoon and then finished Friday at 1 pm. I was totally unprepared so I think 10 pages was pretty good.

I bet you were hoping to see some of my pages? Well, I was planing on posting those but I left my album and all the pages I did for that album in my friends truck. So you will have to wait until I get my album back. She is about 45 minutes away from me so we have to plan a time to meet up. For now here are are few pictures from the crop.

Top: Fall Colors

Middle: Me and my friend Laura acting like Pirates. (this was a Pirate theme crop)

Bottom: Our hotel - The Vintage at Winter Park

My Disney Swap

This is one of my swaps that I am doing. This particular one is for a Disneyland/World swap. I choose to do the Jungle Cruise. I used Close To My Heart's Expedition papers, Nature Walk stamp set, Rustic Alphabet stamp set and of course some fun Disney 3-D stickers (not CTMH) for this layout. Oh, and my little green bug for "cruise" in the title. I really loved how it came out and hope others in the swap approve.

Moose Encounter

Over Labor Day Weekend was my 7 year anniversary to my wonderful husband, Wes. We took a short trip (without the kids) to Steamboat Springs, CO. This was my first trip there. I have lived in CO for all but 3 years of my life and had never been to Steamboat before. I also have never seen a Moose. I know it must sound funny, but it's true. The thing is, I never knew we had Moose in Colorado. Turns out there is a good reason I have never seen one until now.

On our way to Steamboat we drove through Rocky Mountain National Park (first time their too), we stopped at a information center and learned that there are only 64 Moose in the entire Rocky Mountain National Park. We happened to stumble across 3 on your entire trip. We saw a few other animals including Elk, Deer and lots of chipmunks that we just had to feed. The chipmunks were so friendly we could actually pet them while feeding them seeds. All in all it was a very nice trip and I would love to visit Steamboat again.
